LCS roster changes

It is with sadness that we today announce the departure of Karim “Airwaks” Benghalia from our starting League of Legends Championship Series roster as he will be stepping back for the foreseeable future.

This obviously means that we will be replacing him with a new member of the Copenhagen Wolves and this individual is none other than former wolf Ilyas “Shook” Hartsema. Given the time constraint that this situation had left us in, there was zero doubts internally that this was the player we wanted for our team. Ilyas will be part of the active starting roster already for the games this week starting on thursday 25th of June.

Our Chief Executive Officer, Jakob Lund Kristensen issued the following statement:

“It is with great pleasure that I today get to welcome back one of the original members of the team we picked up right before DreamHack Summer 2014, which eventually lead us to where we are today. Ilyas brings not only a high level of mechanical skill but also a large amount of experience to our team in a time where we need it more than ever.

Karims decision of withdrawing from the team left us with a very limited amount of time to find a suitable replacement, though I am more than happy with the solution we found. Now we need to focus fully on the remaining 6 weeks of the split and proving that we belong in this league.”

Ilyas “Shook” Hartsema will play his first game for the Copenhagen Wolves this thursday vs. Roccat at 18:00.
